When No One Is Watching - Aldo

 The story begins when Sydney Green decides, as a distraction from her elderly mother's illness and other personal woes, to take a walking tour of Gifford Place, her historically Black Brooklyn neighborhood, which is becoming wealthier considering the massive headquarters of a pharmaceutical company that had just been built. 

As the story goes on, more and more condos start going up for sale, and neighbors she's known her whole life are just disappearing without a trace. While walking, she runs into her new neighbor, Theo. After getting to know Theo a bit, she becomes paranoid and afraid of him. The more she talks to him, her fear and panic escalate.

As time passes, Sydney becomes more paranoid, questions whether she can trust Theo, and questions everything happening around her.

In my opinion, the book itself is just like a remake of the movie get out. It has some pretty unexpected twists and turns if you're into that kind of stuff. Overall, the book to me was ok, I guess. I didn't really like the dynamic between the two main characters. I think that their backstories could have been better explained in more detail. I would recommend this book. Who likes these types of suspenseful and mysterious books where the outcome is never certain. I would rate it a 6/10.

  Keeper of the Lost Cities  - Shannon Messenger, entire series *Spoiler warnings* I’m not talking about book one, book two, or book three. I’m talking about the whole nine-book incomplete series. I firmly believe that it is really good (although maybe just after the first few books). Once you get back Sophie Foster's god complex, or rather get used to it, the rest of the series allows you to pretend the side characters are the main characters. Sophie is an elf with superpowers, who after spending the first twelve years of her life in the human world (and reading the dictionary for fun at age five), gets introduced to the elf world.                It was a Monday. I had ELA next period and had forgotten to bring a book to school, so at the end of lunch period I ended up in the library. Just like Ok, I have two minutes, grab a book and go . I saw a familiar name, but with a title of a book I’ve never read, so I grabbed the book and got going. Challenger Deep by Neal Shusherman . Forty-five minutes later, after reading the first sixty pages of the book, the words that came out of my mouth were, “This book sucks''. And following up with that, “It makes no sense.
